As the Volunteer Manager for Pillars, Tony’s role is to recruit, onboard, train and retain volunteers for the varied shelter and housing programs in the organization. Aspects of the role include community speaking, informational tables at community events, twice monthly volunteer orientations and frequent communication with staff and volunteers throughout the organization. Wherever there is a need, Tony is seeking people willing to assist. He joined the organization just after the three organizations merged to form Pillars. Prior to joining Pillars, Tony served 22 months in AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps where he was a leader of a team of young adults (ages 18-24) from across the country. He led the team in service projects with 12 non-profit organizations in seven states. He then spent two years in California as Volunteer Services Assistant Manager for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. Tony earned a Bachelor’s Degree in human development and psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Moving back to hometown Green Bay just a year ago, Tony is excited to be part of the Pillars journey. In his free time, he enjoys attending music concerts, spending time on the water and traveling throughout the country to discover all it has to offer.
