Anne Muller

Organizational Development Director

As Organizational Development Director, Anne’s role includes the development of the organization, human resources, and information and technology. She was hired as Operations Manager at the former Homeless Connections in 2002. Previously, she worked in a mental health correctional facility and as Director of Operations with an apartment management company.

Anne finds it difficult to narrow her favorite part of her job to just one thing. She appreciates the trust she has received from her immediate supervisor and the Pillars Board of Directors. Her other highlights include the joy of making a good hire and watching that person make a positive impact within the agency and not knowing what each new day will bring with the challenge of handling all of the surprises that go along with that – good and bad.

Anne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in human services with a minor in Spanish. Her community involvement includes the Heart of the Valley Chamber, BRAIN Fox Valley, WisconSibs, Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin, Appleton Bilingual School, Poverty Outcomes & Improvement Network Team Member, Fox Valley Society of Human Resource Management, National Society of Human Resource Management, Girl Scouts of Northeast Wisconsin, PULSE and the Hispanic Interagency Council. She has served on the boards of Casa Hispana and Professional Women’s Connections. She is a graduate of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, Appleton Police Department Citizens Police Academy, Crisis Intervention Partner, and Nonprofit Leadership Institute through the Community Foundation.

Her family is her top priority outside of work. Anne enjoys cooking, volunteering, and traveling with her family. They also recently added a Labradoodle to their home and are learning how to train their new puppy together.

Where do you get your inspiration?

I find my inspiration in other people’s powerful stories and experiences. I pay attention, do a little digging, and actively try to uncover inspiration from everywhere around me.
